Castle Chess Camp is held annually at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Now in its 22nd year, Castle Chess brings together top instructors and aspiring students for a week of intensive training and fun.

Minimum Peak Rating: 1100 USCF

Minimum Camper Age: 10 years old

In 2024, we had 108 campers from 22 states, plus Canada and Puerto Rico. The average USCF rating was ~1750. The top group included campers rated 2092 – 2406, and 25% of the campers were rated over 2000, including National Masters and FIDE Masters.

Castle Chess also hosts the 200+ player Grand Prix Tournament the weekend after camp. The Grand Prix is open to everyone.
