Castle Chess Camp is held annually on the campus of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Now in its 22nd year, Castle Chess brings together top instructors and aspiring students for a week of intensive training and fun.
Castle Chess Camp requires a minimum USCF rating of 1100. The minimum camper age is 10 years old.
In 2024, we had 108 campers from 22 states, plus Canada and Puerto Rico. The average USCF rating was ~1750. The top group included campers rated 2092-2406, and 25% of the campers were rated over 2000, including National Masters and FIDE Masters.
Castle Chess also hosts the 200+ player Grand Prix Tournament the weekend after camp. The GP tournament is open to everyone.
